Yup, being a little kid is good, but trying to instruct one is tough... If you didn't know, I teach this 11yr old girl tennis. I think she's learning at a fair pace. I would hope fast, but we can't have everything in life, right? Personally, I think kids who have siblings grow up to be more "people" people. Let me elaborate, as kids with siblings grow, they learn somethings that a single child may not learn as quickly. Sharing, trust, and how to make deals with others are skills that all kids make with their siblings. Now don't go assuming that I don't like single children, I actually envy some of them for their independence and lack of another factor that may always be a deciding factor in their life. They don't have to go by what their older sibling does. They don't have to rely on their sibling for certain things, or even take care of anyone else. Yet, some of those may also teach a kid something. Anyway, I think I've started to run into a problem in my work. I think I've befriended this girl into thinking that she can manipulate my teaching and not listen to me. I'm stuck because I can't yell at her or force her to do what I need to do to do my job. This will take a little bit of brainstorming... Anyway, another summer day passed... still dull... still boring... this is the time I wish I still were in school... godforbid...
