Ahhh..... Thanksgiving break was nice... oh so nice... After the stressful, yet short, week before, it felt quite nice to not worry as much. Lots of good food this weekend along with time spent with many friends and family. I also got a bit of needed sleep in as well as I know the following week, will be one were I'll be lacking that. I saw a couple movies this weekend, including Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Life or something like it, Return to a better tommorrow (chinese film), and Running out of Time (chinese film). Now for my reviews... Harry Potter was good, as to be expected, however I thought that the first one was better. The first one seemed to have deeper characters and really stuck in my head. The 2nd seemed like a string of random events that hung on to each other by just a thread of evidence. (it's another mystery to be solved by potter) I'll probably read the book sometime so I'll have to make that comparison. It may have been, that I had too high expectations after seeing the first. In Life or something like it, Angelina Jolie plays a top notch reporter who is on the rise in the news world. Then there's that prophet who tells her she's gonna die, and yea you've probably heard that part already. It was put together ok, but the sort of transitional stage Jolie goes through to change her character seemed to go by too fast, so that could have been done better. Overall, it was an OK movie. I would recommend it only if you're into chick flicks or Angelina Jolie. Return to a better tommorrow, is a sequal to the other movies (A better tommorrow 1 & 2, which included Chow Yun Fat in his earlier years) starring, probably the most famous of the 3 main characters, Ekin Cheng. As all other chinese movies, this one was no less whacked than the rest of the lot. Nothing special unless you like guns. Even if you do I would caution you that it's pretty fake. Moving on to Running out of Time (the first one) staring Andy Lau and another fairly famous male actor. This is you classic movie of cop chasing a baddie but its got an interesting twist to it. The "baddie", Andy Lau, suffers from a detrimental case of cancer and only has a few weeks to live. A decent movie, however it has some flaws. Deal with them and watch the movie, because it really isn't bad. I think that's enough... although one more movie I must note is "My Sassy Girl" a korean romatic comedy that is one of the best films in my opinion. Ask me more in person =D Everyone who watched it said it was good. Must be off now...
