Woah there... a new Texan? LA losing leverage?

So even though it's summer, I've been keeping busy... Taking CSE 142 (a basic programming class) and CLAS 101 (a vocab class) at the UW. I'm working a bit more now at the Q. Making some bank to hopefully spend later this summer. So far life is kinda smooth I guess. Well I speak to soon. CSE is simple so far, but I have a bad feeling that it's going to creep up really fast really soon. Classics... just the name kinda wants to bite me in the ass when I least expect it.

In other news... T-MAC IS HEADING TO TEXAS!!! Could this be any more exciting?? Another huge duo has formed that has great potential. But if you ask me, they'll probably get no further than semi-finals, if that even. Houston traded 2 huge scorers and a vital backup bigman for pretty much just T-Mac. Yes they got 2 other guards and Juwan Howard, but that won't match it. And I think we can expect T-Mac to have a tougher time staying as the scoring leader of the league for his 3rd year now that he's got to share the ball a little more with rising star Yao Ming. Magic on the other hand, now has a lot of small options and no big men except for Dwight Howard, their draft pick this year. I haven't seen the kid play, but I hope for the best for Magic. They did just lose one of the best players in the game after all.

Other trade business in the NBA, Dallas Mav's Antawn Jamison went to Washington for Jerry Stackhouse, some other dude, and their #5 draft pick Devin Harris. Personally I don't think this trade is that huge, nothing special here.

Gary Payton has said that he plans to stay another year with the Lakers to achieve his hopes of getting a ring. He also said that he thinks Karl Malone will join him too in LA. Talks of Shaq and Kobe splitting up have caused quite a stir and personally I think it'll happen. Yes Phil Jackson is gone, but I think Shaq and Kobe want different directions more than anything else. Kobe wants to be the next MJ, and Shaq wants to be the best player ever. I don't really know where the players will end up, but my bet is that Shaq will be the one leaving.

The free market agency seems to be causing quite a stir this year too as a lot of desirable players have come out. One of which is Steve Nash who might end up going to Phoenix. Main reason being their hefty offer and long contract for Nash that Dallas can't offer. More speculation in that Dallas will try their best to keep Nash, so that they can trade him to LA for Shaq. Now that would be interesting eh... Texas being the base of powerhouse teams...

Whatever happens, next year should be an exciting one. Lebron will have grown even more. We'll finally see what Seattle can come up with now that power forward Nick Collision is here along with new 7 foot center Swift. (don't remember his name) But quite frankly, I lied about seeing what Seattle can come up with. I think another below 500 season is in order...

Wooo, this weekend should be good fun. With the 4th coming up and Twong's b-day bash tomorrow, so far it's looking good. Well, I think that's a wrap for now.
