ahaha...
Sorry to our female counterparts... but this was just too funny.
Yesterday scientists revealed that beer contains small traces of female hormones.
To prove their theory, the scientists fed 100 men 12 pints of beer and observed that 100% of them gained weight, talked excessively without making sense, became emotional, and couldn't drive.
it's days like these that make summer so much sweeter...
Took my chem midterm today... and man was it a "doosey". I thought that we just had to figure out the products of reactions that we had to write, but it turned out for some of the problems we even had to figure out what the reactants were... @_@ Argg it was pretty darn tough, but I studied lots and am hoping that it paid off. I haven't really done well in chemistry at all in college... =/ I think I've ran into successive crappy ass chem teachers this year. Or I'm just being lazy and stupid.
I registered on tuesday morning, got classes i wanted, but at not the right times. I have Ochem in the evening, which doesn't work. I have a bio that would be ok, but it's in the way of the morning Ochem that I want, so it's very likely that if I want to change my Ochem, I'll have to change my bio. I'm also registered currently for 2 math classes (307 and 308, ahahaha you'll never catch me taking those together =P) and music 116. I don't think I'll be taking either math in the fall, because I've endured 2 sciences and a math this quarter, and it's not fun at all... u_u; I dunno what my third class will be. This summer I'll be taking CSE 142, which should be fine with lotsa time. It'll take some stress off from taking it during the year. Now if only people would drop out of bio and ochem now...
This quarter went by amazingly fast. I cant' believe next week is week 9 already. Finals are in 2 weeks and summer is only 2.5 weeks away... Just 1 quiz and 3 finals away... ugh
A lot of new movies that I wanna see; pretty much because I haven't seen a flick in a long time and have gotten pretty bored lately. I dunno what to think of Van Helsing... I haven't heard too much about it, but the Daily actually rated it terribly. I dunno if I trust their taste though. Troy is another I'd like to watch. The Daily rated this one also very poorly, so I'm really skeptical about their taste now. On the other hand, they rated Shrek2 which came out today, very high. I really wanna see a movie XD. I want to see something so bad, I'd even settle for that Vin Diesel flick, Chronicles of Riddick. That looks somewhat intense and visually pleasing. Then, finally SpiderMan2 will be out in June... Awwww inspiring. The trailer makes me so pumped to see it! I dont' wanna over do myself or else I'll have really high expectations and that'll ruin it. I think this summer's flicks will definately please!
I'm starting to get sick of the food at the Hub... Pizza is overpriced, the cheese is is oft oilier than all their other types combined. Chinese food is good occassionally but it's becoming the thing I get whenever I can't decide and am really hungry. I usually order the same thing from Subway, (Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki) I guess I'm not much of a sandwich fan. The pasta place isn't that great. The portion is too small for me and one time I got pasta that was still cold on the inside... u_u; The mexican place is OK, I think 7 bucks for a huge burrito is a bit overpriced. I want to try that At Home Grille place, but sometimes their menu items are kinda weird. Not to mention they're also priced fairly heftily. I'd go to the ave, but aside from a diner type place and many teriyaki places, all other other types of food are fairly far. Maybe I'll try the pho place sometime. Ok, well I'm tired now. I didnt' get much sleep last night. Oyasuminasai!
a breath of fresh air, and then down again
So today after school, I was typing on my computer when all of a sudden I hear my sister yell, "Mom, you let a bird in the house!!!" So what do I do, I run up of course to see some sort of spectacle with my sister trying to engage the bird as if she thought she were some disney princess. And there my sister is, trying to get her head as close to the bird, which is hiding behind a big plant pot, as possible. My mom comes by and tries to shoe it out and it flies around the room, takes a crap on a windowseal, and hits the windows a few times. Yes, a few times. Mark em... once, it flew back up to a high ledge on our wall, second, fell on the carpet and got back up... and the third time it hit the window it fell smack into the large plant pot it was once hiding behind. Alas, it did not get up this time... We took it outside on the deck and lay it there for a moment until I decided that it was most likely dead from a broken spine, and my mom told my sister to get rid of it. Eventually my sister just took it out in a plastic bag and lay it next to the trashcan for an hour or so to see if it would revive. I think it's disposed of now...
I watched another anime movie by the acclaimed Hayao Miyazaki called "Kiki's Delivery Service." It is not quite at the caliber of Spirited Away or Princess Mononoke, but is a decent movie nevertheless. The Skinny: A young witch goes off at the appropriate age of 13 to start her own independent life in a random town she chooses. She decides to start a delivery service (just as the title says) in a seaside town she grows to love. During the course of the movie she learns more about herself and how to be stay strong when the going gets tough. The general plot line is fairly thin, and it just sort of all ties back together to make a happy ending. This film is aimed at a younger crowd than his other movies but don't expect this to be some great flick. It is a very simple movie that has a magnificently created world, as in most of Miyazaki's movies, and very likable characters. I would probably recommend this movie to a person who is going to babysit and needs some good entertainment for the kids to make em tired. In general, a younger crowd would enjoy this one. Worth renting for yourself? No, but if you're as bored in your free time and can dl it like me, sure why not. Miyazaki's movies are never crap, that's for sure. As for rating, I'll give it a 6/10. It suffered the fate of a simple and boring storyline.
Oye, my 3 hard classes are kicking me arse so badly... I just had 2 out of 3 of my 2nd round of midterms and I got sick around them so I'm not feeling good... =/ I have my chem one in 2 days and I'm feeling really shaky because no one I've talked to is sure about the material and how to do it. I'm still confused about the reactions we're going to be expected to write and I can feel impending doom already... I feel really unfortunate because this prof was the only one I really could take, because I really didn't want to take the late night lecture. This prof is also rated really, REALLY low... He's got consistantely 2-3 range ratings in his course evaluations online. Just great... I'm starting to like my Bio class though. The material is interesting, the labs are fairly straightforward and I find it easier to chat with the profs unlike my other classes. I just hope I can do well in it... Anyway, I must go back to work. Too much to do and not enough anti-slacker/procrastinator juice to keep going X(
It's been a while...
So I'm making an update... hrmm... what to talk about... a movie review! that's always easy to do. So I saw this chinese movie called "Men Suddenly in Black", or Dai Zhang Fu or "good husband" (i think) roughly translated. This is probably one of the best movies I've seen come out of HK in a looonnngggg time. It's a comedy about these 4 friends who have committed to having good times whenever they can get out of their wives' supervision. It stars a few notable actors including Eric Tsang, Jordan Chan, and the fresh Chapman To. There's another famous actress but I don't know her name =X The movie has an interesting plot line, following the 4 guys as they plot their plan in advance before their wives leave. It gets a little intense as the group find themselves going from hotels, meeting old loves, in "special internet cafes"... Yes, the movie gets a little... how to say this... the men are unfaithful, I guess. But that's not important, what's important is the sometimes goofy or keen humor carried out throughout the film that makes it enjoyable. This is by far a much more sound film than anything else that's probably come out of HK since like Infernal Affairs. (I dunno for sure, but it seems that long) The movie ends at what seems like an open place, but then it also seems logical. You'll just have to watch it to see what I mean =P I would recommend this movie to anyone who still is searching for any hope of a good chinese movie, well it's here. Rating for this movie... 7 / 10. It's not your next must see film, but it sure is worth your time.
Ok, I was just watching a preview thing for the Piston/Nets game a minute ago and something just made me laugh. (only people who know basketball will know who i'm talking about) They were talking about how Rasheed Wallace needs to use his size down low to score on the Nets, instead of "floating outside the perimeter" as he has been doing in the past 2 games. And the commentators are on the court currently talking in front of the camera, criticizing Rasheed Wallace's game, and as this is happening, I see Rasheed Wallace behind the commentators shooting 3-pointers with his left hand... lol. Yeah, random note.
I just had 2 of my 3, 2nd midterms of the quarter, on the same day >_< today... It was math and bio, which I guess is Chem and anything else... Throughout my entire bio midterm, I was worried because I forgot to turn off/silent my cell phone, so I was panicking like crazy... I didn't want to take it out of my pocket to turn it off, b/c the test had already started and it would've looked really really suspicious. That alone raised my nervousness level by like 10 times. I think I messed up on a few problems... T_T Then I had my math midterm which didn't go as bad as that one, but I hate the T/F problems that my prof gives us... They're always so tricky and confusing... It sucks because you know they are meant to trip you up, and you almost never know for sure about anything... *sigh* Ok, I think that's a decent up date. Shoutout to my HS bud David who's turning 19 tomorrow!! Happy Birthday man, 19 and still going strong... =D
Pfftt...
Ever wonder why they named it Wonder Bread? Because it leaves you wondering why the hell your still hungry after eating an entire loaf! *sigh* Now back to study after my lame joke...
