Sorry it's been a while since I posted last. College life has been pretty busy lately. Hw is starting to pile up and spending so much of my day there doesn't help =/ I've also been working a little too, about 10 hours a week. This past weekend I had to work on both saturday and sunday >_< for 7 and 8 hour shifts... I guess that's ok as long as I don't have too much hw. The weekend didn't suck that bad b/c I got to see Kill Bill on friday with Kevin. I'll give a review later along with another movie. I've met a few people but haven't had much chances to hang out with them... It sucks to live at home... I feel so isolated from everyone else and alone on my lonely southern half of MI. *sigh*
So some other random news... I'm officially the best bagger at our South Mercer Island QFC~! How lame is that, lol... There was a "Bag Off" competition among all the courtesy clerks and I ended up coming up with the fastest time along with good building technique, etc... lol. I won a QFC fleece vest... OOoohh... Aaahhh.... It'll come in handy when winter comes around.
So I watched Kill Bill friday, and Spirited Away just tonite. Kill Bill, the anticipated fourth film my Quentin Tarantino, is a blood bath movie about an assassin who has awaken from a coma in seek of revenge against her former partners in crime. Action is spectacular. Plot is thin, but not really needed in a movie like this. Filming was amazing. Humor was used very very well at good points in the movie. I would recommend this to anyone who's got a stomach for gore and likes a good old fashioned kung fu flick. People lookng for a deep story won't get too much of it, altho it does give a bit of history of the characters. Overall I'd have to say this was a pretty good movie. 7.5 / 10 is my rating. The gore and blood was a bit much for my tolerance. I'm not looking forward very much to Volume 2 as I was initially for this one, but I may or may not see it. Moving on to Spirited Away, an anime film about being a stranger in a new place. I really liked this movie even though it was aimed toward a younger audience. It had a good story and very creative characters. Not a really really cool fiction world that I would want to go into, but it was definately a unique and interesting world. Humor is very light hearted. Lots of cute parts as there should be in a children's anime movie. There were actually some CGI shots but they weren't very impressive b/c it was just of water and a beach. More of that would've been cool. I would rate this film an 8.5 / 10 and recommend it for anyone who likes watching the occasional light and fantasy world anime. It's one of those movies that anyone would enjoy. After all, this movie did win a few awards. It definately won't put you to asleep either so it's a movie that should be on your to-watch if you're into anime. Well that's enough, need to get back to work... u_u;
