Oye, much has happened within the past 2 weeks roughly. Lets see, I saw the Italian Job, Matrix Reloaded, Color of the Truth (HK flick), My Left Eye See's Ghosts (HK flick), and had an exciting weekend (not really but it had good parts). I'll give really short reviews of the movies and talk about other stuff. After I take a shower......*cue waiting music*................. So the Italian Job, flashy movie about thieves and backstabbing. Nothing memorable except for the mini coopers and the actress being hot. I wouldn't expect much from a Mark Wahlberg movie anyway. I give it a gracious 6 / 10. You're not missing anything by missing this movie.

Matrix Reloaded, sequel to the hit first movie continues the story where it left off. Plenty of action to go around. Keanu's kung fu skills are still stunted due to his stiff neck problems... (lol) and Trinity is still the badass chick. The car chase scene was amazing, probably one of the best ones I've seen in a while. Plot is like throwing peanut butter in water. It's all action up to a point, and then they throw a wad of thick peanut butter and expect you to swallow it smoothly. Nothing deep really happens, unless you really think about what is said, then it can be more profound than you initially expect. Personally, I found the CGI (computer animation) action/kung fu to be too out there. Like it made me feel that this wasn't really a movie. They just had a couple of computer gamers make a short cinematic for a new computer game. If I wanted to see computer animated fighting, I'd go play a computer game, not pay $7 for someone to show me a 5 min segment of keanu *trying* to do kung fu. But all in all, it's worth seeing just because you have to see the trilogy. The first was classic. This however, I hope will be the runt of the 3 movies. I give it a 7.5 / 10. I want to look forward to the third...

The Color of the Truth is a cop story that is reminicent of the late HK hit movie, Infernal Affairs. The skinny: a cop's son is out for revenge on another older cop who supposedly murdered his father in a tangle. He gets to know the older cop and befriends him, but what are his true intentions...? A good story with OK action. Comedy is a bit lame, but a "good try". Probably one of the better HK movies that has come out to date. Has a good cast full of new and old HK stars. Music is fitting for the movie. The only thing I didn't like was the ending. It wasn't bad, I just thought it could've been better. So, I give this a 8 / 10. (hrmmm the movies are getting progressively better...) I would recommend it to anyone who's in to good cop/bad cop type movies, or anyone who likes a good story.

Moving onto My Left Eye See's Ghosts, starring the diva, Sammi Cheng. Just to start it off, Sammi and Lau Ching Wan do a great job and it's no wonder that they are of the few best actors in HK. This is a sort of a ghost story that's not scary, with lots of comedy, and some romance... I guess it's probably classified as a comedy ghost flick more. The skinny: A widow inherits her rich husband's fortune and decides to go drinking and driving (no no, tsk tsk) and gets into an accident that leaves her with a freakish power to see ghosts. Sammi's character makes a shaky, but fairly solid transition throughout the movie to show her change of heart. Lau Ching Wan has great ability and carries his role as a ghost surprisingly well. Laughs are not really all over, but it's a very silly/cute movie that had me snickering and smiling throughout. The romantic part is kind of thrown in the background to serve as a guidance line so the movie actually goes somewhere. It pulls together at the end pretty well and works for a good ending, although albeit is a little obvious what happens. Overall a good flick. I would only say that there needs to be more humor, like really good jokes. I'll give this movie a 8 / 10. Another film that is worth watching if you're a fan of HK cinema.

School is going pretty well. Just finished my midterms so I'm glad that's over with for now. I discovered that my Phil class has 4 essays, and we've only done 1 so far and it's the 5th week... which means the essays will probably be coming very soon, and very close together... >_< essay writing, what I dread the most. I've been meeting quite a few people in my classes and outside of them. Never really get to know any of them though, b/c I only see them in class and during lunch so that's very unfortunate. Well I'll hope for the best for the rest of college... I have a great story about my weekend and the District Bagging contest. Unfortunately I"m too lazy now to write it all out in my blog b/c it's a pretty long story (but a good one! sounds sad tho, hahah) and I want to go to bed. So please ask me about it!! I would love to tell you about it. Well, that's a wrap. G'nite.
